American Samoa

I moved to American Samoa in August, 2008 to work as a law clerk for the High Court of American Samoa.

The Court provides me with a house in the "Lion's Park" neighborhood of Tafuna Village near the airport. Government housing without the government cheese. Here is a picture of Erin preparing dinner in the kitchen:
The "backyard" has banana and coconut trees:
I am slightly inept at opening the coconuts, even with my Crocodile Dundee machete:
I bought a truck. 1995 Mitsubishi:
The truck-seller threw a cat into the deal. Erin and I named her Sadie after the hotel parking lot in which we acquired her. Here she is protecting my house from the scourge of gecko's:

The Tafuna houses look the same as they did when I lived there in for a few months in 1965, waiting for my first school principal assignment!
My family and I moved to Aunu'u for two years, lived for a year in Fagatogo when I was teaching on KVZK-TV, and two years at Manulele Tausala in Nu'uuli.

I see a leaf on the ground of your truck photo. I thought we had a deal...
